Better than the picture! This place was just what we needed for a weekend away, everything was perfect. Super relaxing and definitely worth the trip. Nice to be in the countryside but also not too far away. The sauna wasn’t working however Michelle informed us early on and offered a later check out time for the inconvienence which was great! Definitely would recommend!

We stayed here with our adult children. We all had plenty of room and were very comfortable. Sheep and rabbits to watch in the mornings and lovely patio to sit on wand star watch. Short drive or reasonable walk to shops.

We can't speak highly enough about the place. It's a little haven where the atmosphere and surroundings almost force you to kick back and forget about [almost] everything and just enjoy. The surrounding areas compliment the accommodations, and the local people reflect the laid-back approach to life. With pristine beaches, great food from the local cafes and restaurants through to the weekend markets there is something for everyone here.

this place was great. we loved the views, the spa, comfy bed, nice big shower. very clean, everything we expected. when someone is staying at the other property (the black building seen in one of the listing pics) we kinda lost the sense of complete privacy outside, but both dwellings are oriented to take in the amazing views and the reality is we never actually saw anyone from the other property. it had a great sense of feeling away from it all while being less than 90 mins from Akl city. beautiful starry sky at night. we would happily stay again!

I loved this spot and the hosts were amazing! Would definitely stay here again. Plus the hot tub made it even better.

Loved the place! Was great to have a spot so close to places to go walking and exploring, and we really enjoyed the house itself - both for the aesthic and the practical aspect of a full kitchen. Check in was super easy, and Mike and Lesley were quick to respond if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend, and would happily stay again!

My sister and I were charmed the moment we pulled into the cottage driveway under the wisteria arbour. Inside we were delighted with how meticulously tidy, spotless, and well-appointed the spaces were. We felt immediately comfortable and at ease and very pleased. We each had our own room, (small fee for extra bed) both beds were comfortable, top quality linens and pillows. The fire was ready to light and quickly warmed the whole place. So many lovely things to breakfast on. Honestly I can't believe how every need was anticipated.. Catherine is indeed a super host. We walked into town both days, a fun 10-15min walk through the neighbourhood.. longer if you stop to read the signage at the heritage buildings. Stocked up on great art, op shop items, boutique homewares, and had some great meals. We need to come back to bike the rail trail. Our weather was soggy, but it did not dampen our enjoyment of the cottage or Greytown one little bit. Fantastic stay!

Un séjour court mais agréable dans ce súper Airbnb ! L’emplacement est tout simplement exceptionnel : la plage se trouve juste en face, nous offrant un accès direct en traversant la route. La terrasse a été notre spot préféré, parfait pour admirer un magnifique coucher de soleil sur la mer. Nous aurions aimé prolonger ce moment, tant l’endroit invite à la détente.

We loved the Blue Cottage. Gay is a wonderful host, friendly, helpful and kind. The cottage has a cosy feel with beautiful natural wood floors and ceilings. The little veranda with a couch is a perfect place to sit with a coffee to watch the New Zealand bird life in the trees that surround the cottage and the garden at the rear has some shade and chairs for further relaxation. Pohara beach with its golden sands is close by, walkable or a short drive away and the road that runs outside (but not too close) to the property gives easy access to Takaka and the beaches along Golden Bay. Gay grows yummy fruit, and veg and has eggs from her hens. We would not hesitate to book The Blue Cottage again.

Great wee spot for a short stay close to town, plenty of things for the kids, the train tracks are close but not noisy.

What a lovely Lady! So warm and welcoming! Added bonus for me were her precious pups, I love having animals around when im travelling for work, as I miss my own! The cottage is pristine, the linen gorgeous, was just such a lovely stay! Thank you Annette for having me and making me feel so welcome, much appreciated!💜

Nice spot and beautifully kept

This was the perfect place to stay before hiking the Tongariro Crossing! It was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. We’ll have to plan for longer next time though, so much to do in the area!

My wife and I had a delightful stay in Kath's country cottage. The morning and evening views from the balcony are impeccable - we loved having meals on the outdoor table. The house is warm and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a restful retreat only minutes away from town.

Lewis and Charlotte are such gracious hosts! This was our first time traveling with our little one and we were still getting the hang of how to be on the go with a young infant. Lewis and Charlotte were so responsive and flexible with our stay - it really made a big difference for our sanity and comfort! We also especially loved their booklet of recommendations for what to do on the island. Such a short easy walk to the main thoroughfare in Oneroa too. Highly recommend!

Second stay at this Bach and just as restorative as remembered. Secluded, private, peaceful, surrounded by nature and farm life. The house is super clean and has everything you need, and if you forget anything its only a 10min drive to Featherstone. Bed is comfortable with gorgeous linen. Claire is so lovely and was really responsive with any questions we had. Can't wait to return

An easy no-contact check-in. A delightful and rustic accommodation. There was plenty of gas for a very long, hot bath outside. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a lovely 3 day visit to the vineyard cottage. It’s truly a place to forget about the world and surround yourself with nature. Well appointed, comfortable and so many wonderful touches. While we never met Lisa, she was very attentive and responsive to our needs and questions. The only surprise from the listing was the location of the cottage relative to the beautiful and beguiling photograph of the home on the bluff overlooking the sea. The cottage is actually further up the hill close to the road and a bit of a steep walk down to the beach.

It's a shame that there are only 5 stars, because we would have given it 6. The accommodation was amazing! Super clean and comfortable.
